They may not pass today but again, they are progressing so that’s a win for us. Gunny gets very tired holding the stand. She had already done it before these videos and was almost quaking from the exhaustion. We’ll keep working to get the longevity.

ReplyDeleteYou are going to be a Junior Handler next year!!! Your mechanics are noticeably cleaner and I can see how much effort you are investing into learning them. Well done, young man 👏.
Pointers:
* Gunny lags consistently, I have a video uploading at 7 am that you will want to review and learn how to help Gunny 'read' and respond briskly to your footwork.
* The Stand is tough on Gunny, I can see that. So work on increasing her muscle strength each training session, even if all you do is a few seconds. Do review the videos on the Stand and how to do the Conditioned Relaxation. That Conditioned Relaxation will, in time, become of extreme importance during the Retrieve Class.
* This weekend, at the Bastain Center in South Jordan, a group of us that you watched at the CGC, are competing in AKC Obedience Trials. Part of that group competing will be my SLC student, Junior Handler, Alice Christensen, competing with her Lab, Mabel and her parents Lab, Kimber. You are invited to come watch. Alice has qualified as 1/5 Lab Junior Handlers in the US and was invited to compete in the Jr Handler Lab Speciality. She is doing all kinds of trails and extras as she is going to apply for an AKC Junior Handler Scholarship which can be as much as $10,000. I will record Alice trials this weekend and upload so you can review if you aren't able to come.
* Finally, I am encouraging your Mom to bring you to the FC Week 5 lesson. We would like to work with you and Gunny in class.
